Shōwa Jukudō Nagoya

The Aichi Gakuin University School of Dentistry Graduate School Building in Nagoya, a hexagonal structure also known as Shōwa Jukudō, was built in 1928 by Miki Kurokawa (1905–1994), the father of Kisho Kurokawa, and mixes Japanese and Western Art Nouveau designs. The four-story tower is modeled after an octagonal central hall and features an observation tower. The Nishizawa Laboratory at Nagoya University (Kido and Nishizawa 2007) construes the building as an example not of the Imperial Crown Style but of eclecticism.
